Last Thursday we went on a trip from Route 66 Idiomas to El Palmar, a charming village next to the Albufera Nature Reserve. A group of students from Germany studying Spanish with us had the chance to visit this beautiful place and experience several aspects of Valencian culture. Our visit began with a trip around the Albufera lake on traditional boats which are still in use today with the addition of a motor. The driver of the boat also told us about the animal and plant life native to the Albufera. After our cruise, the students relaxed while enjoying a glass of typical Valencian horchata with delicious “fartons”. The trip was a unique experience and a good activity to help them learn Spanish, which was greatly enjoyed by all the students at our language school.
