The Crida 2020 will be held on 1 March and marks the start of this year’s Fallas celebrations. At 8 p.m. at the Torres de Serrano theFallera Mayor of Valencia will give a speech to open the festivities, followed by a spectacular fireworks display full of light and colour.
The day of the Crida begins at 7.30 a.m. with the despertà, which involves falleros throwing small firecrackers in the streets of Valencia. These Fallas club members are accompanied by their wind bands. In return for this early morning start they are rewarded with a Fallas breakfast: the xocolatà.
At 12 noon the wind bands enter the Plaza de la Virgen and process to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where we can enjoy the mascletà at 2 p.m.
